Christmas in America

                                                Contributed by Bruce Timpany

It may seem like Christmas has always been celebrated in the United States, but that's not the case. In fact, the joyous religious holiday was actually banned in America for several decades by Christians themselves.
The original war on Christmas was waged during the sixteenth and seventeenth century by Puritans, or Protestant Christians who believed that people needed strict rules to be religious and that any kind of merrymaking was sinful. YES BECAUSE THEY KNEW WHAT THEIR BIBLE SAID ABOUT KEEPING PAGAN HOLIDAYS.{{{ Mark 7:6-8 }}} He answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written:This people honors Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me.7 And in vain they worship Me,Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’8 For laying aside the Commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men .Deuteronomy/12:30 Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them, after that they be destroyed from before thee; and that thou inquire not after their gods, saying, How did these nations serve their gods? even so will I do likewise.12:31 Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God: for every abomination to the LORD, which he hateth, have they done unto their gods.
Over the last two millennia, traditional Christianity has systematically laid aside the "feast days of the Lord" and established its own holidays. Christmas was established to enable pagan converts to come into church fellowship without forsaking their heathen customs and practices http://www.livescience.com/32891-why-was-christmas-banned-in-america-.html
