All predicted in the Bible.
In the Christian and secular world (and definitely on the internet), there is much discussion about a One World Order or “New World Order.” There are no doubt thousands of sites, sermons and youtube videos that discuss a One World government, New World Order or some variation on that theme. This blog will take a completely Biblical look to show what the Bible has to say on the topic. In fact it will seek to show that the Bible has predicted a Coming One World Order from almost 2,000 years ago and that this future order will be the second such attempt by man (and will fail once again).

One World Government
There are many details of this coming One World Order throughout the Bible but the most detailed description can be found in the book of the Revelation Chapter 13. Revelation, the final book of the Bible, was written between 65-86 A.D. and is a description of the last years of the Earth leading up to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Revelation 13 is the primary chapter where see a description of society under the rule of The Beast, also known as The Antichrist. Here we read:
Revelation 13:1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy. 2And the beast which I saw was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority. 3And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death; and his deadly wound was healed: and all the world wondered after the beast.
The vivid description of the antichrist is symbolic of his power structure. The animal parts and horns are all indicative of the government in which he will rule. We can know this because we get a description of what the vision John the Revelator has means in Revelation Chapter 17:
7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. 8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is. 9And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. 10 And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. 11 And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition. 12 And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. 13 These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast.
For the purposes of this article we are going to focus on verse 12. The ten horns on the beast are “ten kings.” This is a term for rulers, those who are in executive political office. This is an aspect of Revelation that is not discussed enough. The Bible prophesies that in the end times, the world is going to be ruled in ten kingdoms or regions. They are represented in this image as 10 horns on the beast. In the end times, these ten leaders are going to be the final global rulers (in a presumably regional government). They will rule with the antichrist for “one hour.” This is metaphorical language as the “hour” could be days, months or years. But after this hour, the ten world rulers will then conspire and be in agreement to turn over all their power to the Antichrist. We know this is the case because in verse 13 the Bible informs us that these ten kings have “one mind” and that they “give” their power to the Beast. At this point the Antichrist has global control.
As the angel continues to interpret the vision for John, we learn that the power the Antichrist wields is “given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations” (emphasis added). This is describing all the races, languages and countries of the entire Earth. All under the leadership of one ruler. This is global government.
Going back to Chapter 13 of Revelation, we see further confirmation of the absolute control and dominance of the Antichrist:
Revelation 13:4 And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who is like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him?
The people’s exclamations show that the Beast is a unique figure on the planet. No one is like him. In addition, no one is able to fight him in war. This is significant because it again shows that his military power and dominance are unparalleled. After a time of ruling with the final 10 leaders, the Antichrist will have absolute rule over all people on the planet. And the world will be in awe of him.
One World Religion
In addition to having political and military control of the world, the Antichrist will also establish a unified, global religious system. At this point it is good to remember that Satan is the source of the antichrist’s power (2 Thessalonians 2:9). And Satan’s ultimate goal is to be God. His desire since his initial rebellion has been to imitate and replace The Lord our God . In the book of Isaiah, chapter 14, the 5-point plan of the Devil is described in detail:
13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north; 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.
So the devil wants to literally be on a throne exalted above all beings and to be worshiped. Even the location of where he wants this worship is listed as “the sides of the north.” This is a real location on Earth, which the Bible identifies. Psalm chapter 48 states: 1 Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. 2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
“Mount Zion” is a biblical term for Jerusalem, Israel. This is literally where Satan wants to operate from. And in his efforts to mimic The Lord, he will empower the Antichrist to be a false imitation of The True Messiah, Jesus Christ Our Lord. The antichrist will be Satan’s way of making a false copy of his own “son” and messiah. Jesus came to Earth as a means to reconcile man to God. The antichrist will try to deceive the world into a false religious system centered on him and Satan. The Antichrist’s actions once in power make this clear. The Bible describes his goal:
4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. (2 Thessalonians Chapter 2)
Going back to Revelation 13, we are introduced to the cohort of the Antichrist, The False Prophet. He is the “second beast” John sees a vision of in this chapter. The False prophet is responsible for setting up the religious system of the Antichrist. We read:
11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. 12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed. 13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, 14 And deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live. 15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.
The False Prophet (he is given this title in Chapter 19 of Revelation) is pictured as having “horns like a lamb.” His appearance will be that of a peaceful religious leader. But his words will be directed by Satan. He will also be able to win the world over to his views by miracles and wonders. This is particularly fitting as we enter an age when the attacks on Christianity are at an all-time high. The world is growing more skeptical of the faith while finding the lure of the occult and the New Age very inviting. This makes society ripe for miracles. And when genuine supernatural acts are being performed, millions and millions will be clamoring for “The One”, the false “Messiah” who can solve all of our ills in the world. And the False Prophet will be directing everyone to worship the antichrist.
The Satanic agenda behind it is revealed when we see that the False Prophet’s real tool is just deception. He deceives the world, save for those who know the Bible truth and believe in Jesus Christ. And again, we see that miracles and signs are the means by which the world will be seduced to this satanic plan. Then the antichrist will initiate this with a bold move of blasphemy:
3Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; 4Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God. — 2 Thessalonians 2
After a time of winning the people over with his charm and wonders, the antichrist will proclaim himself to be God and every citizen of the world will be required to worship him. His true agenda will be revealed. It is the author’s belief that this will occur 3 ½ years into the political career of the antichrist. To facilitate this worship, we read that the False Prophet will also set up an image of the Antichrist. Whether this is a statue or a hologram of some sort, it’s impossible to discern from the text. But some image of the antichrist will actually be given “life.” It will be artificial intelligence. So much so that it will be able to speak and demand worship. And this is where the focus of the world’s worship will be directed. And those who do not comply, will be killed. This again, is a global religious system. There are no exceptions. The entire world will be subject to this religion.
One World Economy
This is perhaps one of the most-well known aspects of Bible Prophecy. Many people are familiar with the Mark of The Beast. But not as many know that its purpose is purely economical. Revelation 13 informs us:
16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.
A mark will be instituted for every single person in society. The passage is clear that everyone in every social class will be receiving it. And it’s for commerce. Nothing can be bought or sold without this mark in either one’s right hand or forehead. The amazing thing to consider is that this prophecy was written almost 2,000 years ago. At a time when almost any item one possessed could be used to buy something else. Barter was a very common system and the Roman empire had already instituted a coin currency. Gold and silver could also be used for purchases. There were many ways to buy and sell in the First century. Yet the Apostle John wrote about a system that all came down to a mark that controlled all commerce. Now this Mark would have to clearly be sophisticated enough to determine how much wealth an individual had or else there would be no way to distinguish over whether you could buy something expensive or cheap. Clearly a system like this could never be implemented until the last 20 years with the invention of computer technology and specifically wireless communications. With electronic debit, wifi shopping and microchip technology, today, it is very conceivable that we can move to a cashless society, in which all purchases and sales could be tracked. An IBM commercial from several years ago illustrates the exact point.
